Nereid’s Intermediate rowing program is a team program that is open to athletes with moderate experience on the water. This program is meant to be the step between beginner and trying out for our Racing Team, and for athletes that are not yet ready to be on the Racing Team.

If you have completed a Fall or Spring season, or 3 or more of our summer camps, we recommend this program. If you are new to the sport or have completed 2 or less of our summer camps we recommend our Beginner program.

This is open to athletes grades 6th-12th with moderate experience

Spring practices will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:45pm-7:15 pm

Spring Season runs from March 11th – May 17th

Participation will be capped at 16 athletes

Spots will be first come first serve

Description:

The goal of the Intermediate rowing program is to teach the athletes the fundamentals of the sport like discipline, work ethic and how to have fun in a competitive environment! This is a non-racing team, so athletes will take their time to learn the ins and outs of the wonderful sport of rowing.

Athletes will do a combination of rowing, land workouts and video work to get familiar with all aspects of the sport. They will learn how to care for the equipment and the boathouse, as well as get to know their teammates.

Athletes that show a knack or enthusiasm for the sport may be asked to tryout for the Novice racing team if in 8th grade or older.
