Nereid granted
501(c)(3) status
The Board is pleased to inform the members that the IRS has granted
Nereid's request to become a 501(c)(3) organization. In our
application, we identified a number of Nereid programs that qualify for
the receipt of gifts that can be considered tax deductible. These
include youth rowing, training for national and international
competition and the work Nereid will be undertaking to construct the
bulkhead and the park.
We will, of course, take great care with policy development and record
keeping to be sure that we're managing our new status
appropriately. The change in designation will give us an
opportunity to solicit tax-deductible gifts for these projects as well
as accept boat and equipment donations that can be categorized as tax
deductible.
We know the process has taken a long time - but we know that it was
worth the effort and we thank all the members for the participation and
cooperation.
Sincerely,
Phil Gartenberg

New garage doors
installed at boathouse
The directors would like to announce that the new garage doors have
been installed, complete with electronic opener and keypads.
The old doors were replaced due to their age, flood damage, and
potential hazard for an accident.
Thank you to Claire Van Der Tuin for all her effort in seeing the
project through to completion.
Happy Holidays~
