Annual Membership Dinner |

Annual Membership Dinner
The Annual Dinner will take place next weekend, on December 9 at the
boathouse. Dan and Briant, Nereid's club chefs, have promised to do even
better than last year, when we had a roast pig, among other delicacies.
At the dinner we will have the boat naming ceremony for our new Wintech
4x. We will also announce the winners of the Club Awards for the year.
Everyone should have received an Evite. Please rsvp by 12/1 (today!!) so
we know how many members to expect. The cost will be the same as last
year, $35 per person, to be paid at the door.

Reminders...
* Now that the weather is turning colder, please make sure that the garage
doors remain closed as much as possible. If you go out for a row and no
one else is around, please close the doors. Doing this will save the club
significantly on heating costs.
* Also, if you are the last to leave the boathouse, make sure the
thermostat upstairs (on the wall next to the TV) is turned down to 50 F.
* If you find the dock icy in the morning, hose it down before launching.
Not doing this risks slipping on the dock, causing injury and equipment
damage. But don't do this if temperatures are below freezing.
* We have been tallying up miles rowed as recorded in the logbook for the
year-end mileage awards. However, many members don't log in and/or don't
write down the miles rowed. For safety reasons, everyone should make an
entry in the logbook whenever they go out. Not doing this is a safety risk
and may find you locked out of the boathouse when you return.
* No one should park in front of the gate in the back of the parking lot,
opposite the fire department shed.

Saturday morning open row
On Saturday mornings at 9 AM, Nereid hosts an open row at the club. We
will put crews together with anyone who shows up. Afterwards, there'll be
breakfast at the boathouse.

Nereid Masters Yahoo group
We have created a Yahoo group where Nereid members can post questions to
other members, post photos and classified ads, organize for regattas, find
others to row with, etc. To register, send a blank email to
nereidmasters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or email
nereidpres@hotmail.com. The group currently has 22 members.

is interesting to other Nereids, please send a few sentences to Alice
Matthews at
nereidsec@hotmail.com. The deadline for submission is Thursday
night. Your contribution will be highly appreciated.
