All members are welcome to attend.

Annual Membership Dinner moved to December 9

Due to an unexpected conflict, we are moving the Annual Dinner to Saturday, December 9.  Please mark your calendars.

The dinner is a formal celebration of club accomplishments over the past year.  All members are invited.

Nereid goes wireless

We now have a wireless router installed at the boathouse, located in the office.  It is an 802.11g router and I have 128-bit security configured.

To access the wireless network, use SSID: NereidNet.  Contact the club secretary for the WEP password.

Head of the Schuykill, Head of the Fish both cancelled

In a regatta director’s nightmare, the severe weather last weekend caused the cancellation of the 2nd and 4th biggest regattas of the Fall head race season, the Schuykill and the second day of the Head of the Fish.

Nereid crews were undeterred. The heavy wind gusts in the same direction as the tidal current led to both the fastest and slowest rowing speeds recorded this year on the Passaic.

Saturday morning open row

On Saturday mornings at 9 AM, Nereid hosts an open row at the club. We will put crews together with anyone who shows up. Afterwards, there'll be breakfast at the boathouse.

Nereid Masters Yahoo group
We have created a Yahoo group where Nereid members can post questions to other members, post photos and classified ads, organize for regattas, find others to row with, etc.  To register, send a blank email to nereidmasters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or email nereidpres@hotmail.com.  The group currently has 22 members.

Nereid News is published weekly on Fridays.  If you have a news item that is interesting to other Nereids, please send a few sentences to Alice Matthews at nereidsec@hotmail.com.  The deadline for submission is Thursday night.  Your contribution will be highly appreciated.
