Nereid at the Rutherford Labor Day Street Fair
Nereid will once again operate a booth at the street fair this year. We
plan to promote the sport of rowing and build interest for the club in the
community. If you are at the fair and would like to meet your fellow
Nereids, we have a spot on Park Avenue right across from Borough Hall. A
big thank you to Carol and Josie, the Co-VPs Social, for organizing this.

Nereid rowers at the FISA World Masters Regatta
About 10 rowers from three rowing clubs located in Southern Germany,
namely Offenbach (IGOR), Mannheim (Mannheimer RG Rheinau) and Ludwigshafen
(Ludwigshafener RV), will stay and train at Nereid from September 3rd to
September 10th.
They will participate with our Nereid team at the FISA World Masters
Regatta in Princeton (http://www.fisamasters2006.com/).
Our Nereid team will challenge the rest of the rowing world in the Masters
Mixed 8+ (Al, Leigh, Mike, George, Gratia, Connie, Sheila, Frank and
Will), Masters 2x (Andrea and Eric), and the Masters 2x, 4x, and 1x (Fred,
Chris, Marc M.).
GOOD LUCK!
Frank Schaefer, Captain

FISA World Rowing Masters Regatta, 9/7-10
Volunteers needed
The 2006 FISA World Rowing Masters Regatta will take place on Mercer Lake,
located in Mercer County Park. The Princeton National Rowing Association
and USRowing will host the Regatta, September 7-10, 2006. More than 3,500
of the best rowers, representing up to 36 countries, will travel to the
United States to compete in the largest and most competitive masters
rowing regatta in the world.
Many volunteers are needed to help with the efficient operations of the
regatta. We need you and your rowing expertise and we welcome family and
friends as volunteers.
If you are racing and have some free time, we would love to have you
volunteer.
All volunteers will receive:
Volunteer tee shirt
Free breakfast or lunch
Free parking (a $5 value)
Please contribute to the success of this regatta by volunteering to help.
It's fun.
