Nereid to hold Annual Membership meeting on March 15
The Nereid Boat Club Annual General Membership meeting is scheduled for
Saturday, March 15 at 11 AM at the boathouse (please note new
time!). The meeting will consist of reports of the Officers and
Committees, as well as the election of new Directors. Please make
every effort to attend. Your vote is important!
The following members were nominated for election to a 3-year term on the Board of Directors:
Robert Hoguet (re-election to a second term)
David Dowd
Peter Wilcox
Stepping down as Directors will be Leigh Hermey and Al Medioli.
We would like to thank Leigh and Al for the tremendous amounts of their
time and effort spent on behalf of the club.
All members should have received a letter in the mail with the
membership information form, list of dues, and a new waiver and boat
storage agreement. The dues are unchanged from last year.
We hope to see everyone at the boathouse on Saturday!!

Little Nereid
Nereid congratulates Elizabeth Mily and Edward Zwilling on the birth of
their son, John Celso Zwilling, born on Friday March 7th. He
weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and is 21 inches long. The baby and mom are
doing great!
Ed and Elizabeth met at Nereid and became engaged right on our
docks. Both have been active club members. Ed served as
Nereid's Captain for several years as well as Treasurer.
Good health to the new family!

Important notice about Winter Weather Rowing
Nereid's Board of Directors, in the interest of the safety and
well-being of the members, and the club, asks all rowers to take note
of following winter weather instructions:
Do not row unaccompanied, either by motor launch or other crew boat, in
weather of 45 °F or less, or water temperature 45 °F or less.
There are clearly visible thermometers on the boathouse (south bay
door) and on the dock for submersion in water. This rule shall be
subject to the direction of the Captain.
Singles rowing is not allowed until further notice.
The Board reminds rowers that failure to adhere to these instructions
can result in sanctions, up to and including suspension of membership
privileges.

The 9th Annual North American Rowing Challenge (N.A.R.C.) will be held
March 15 – April 15, 2008. Create or join a team and row as many
meters as you can for great prizes.

Heavyweight single
for sale
It is a 2006 Sykes Hwt (90k), M26 (mould 30), HC-carbon boat, with an
alloy wing rigger and is wired for a NK speedcoach. Boat is
in great condition and is stored at Nereid. I can arrange for
the boat to be shown at anytime. Asking $7250 or Best Offer,
this model is sold for $8720 when brand new.
I am only looking to sell this 1x because going forward I will be
competing as a lightweight and I am purchasing a new hull.
