GOOD LUCK NEREIDS!
Nereid rowers are competing Sunday at the 10th annual New York Athletic Club Masters Scullers Invitational at NYAC in Orchard Beach, New York. Go get 'em Nereid! Bring us some hardware!

MEMBERSHIP GUIDE AVAILABLE
The 2010 Nereid Membership Guide is now available! Get your copy in one of three ways: by downloading the attachment to this email, checking out the membership page of the Nereid website, or finding a hard copy in the boathouse. All members are required to review the club rules and procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.

NATIONAL LEARN TO ROW DAY BIG SUCCESS!
As many as 65 people turned out June 5th for Nereid's National Learn to Row Day. Most participants were adults, with at least 20 from Rutherford. They were treated to a boat house tour, an erg session, a lesson on the dock rower, and, in most cases, a spin in a quad. Many, many thanks to the 15 volunteers who donated their time and expertise.

Last week, five students and the principal of the Craig School, a school in Lincoln Park that serves children with disabilities, participated in their own learn-to-row day. Thanks to coaches Boris, Sarah, Kyle and David Dowd for organizing that.

JUNIOR PROGRAM IN FULL SWING
Some 42 youth are participating in the spring junior rowing program, double last year's turnout. Through June 25th, practices will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 pm. Once school is out, summer sessions will take place during the day. Members are asked for their patience in sharing boats and dock space with our aspiring Olympians.

WOODCHIPS AT 550
The town of Rutherford graciously donated two truckloads of woodchips to help us control weeds at 550 Riverside. We need members to help spread them. If you have a spare hour this weekend, please drop by 550, where a wheelbarrow, shovel and rake await! This is part of Joe DiCristo's efforts to save the club $$ on landscaping costs. Your sweat equity is appreciated!

TIPPING DRILL IN THE WORKS
Nereid Membership Chair Elinor Sprouse is planning a tipping drill. Any club member who has not participated in such a drill is strongly urged to take part. Please email Elinor at nereidjoin@hotmail.com to indicate your interest. Further information will be published in the Nereid News.
