Join the fun—learn to row at Nereid

Rowing is a great sport at any age, and you don't have to be a killer athlete to learn or to enjoy it. Nereid offers Adult and Youth Private Lessons, as well as, Youth Learn to Row Programs. Nereid Membership is NOT required for the Learn to Row Programs and Private Lessons.

To sign up, please download and complete the forms on this page and send a check made payable to Nereid Boat Club. As space is limited, receipt of your form and check will determine acceptance. Mail the application to the address on the form or email the completed form (PDF) to programs@nereidbc.org. Nereid reserves the right to modify the existing program schedule as events (such as regattas, interest level, etc.) warrant.

For Adults

Nereid’s adult private lessons are designed so that a beginner can progress to membership and full participation in the club.

Private Lessons

A non-member may a sign up for five one-hour private lessons at a total cost of $225. Private lessons, conducted by one of our coaches; offer flexibility with dates, times and time of year. You may start whenever safe water conditions allow, normally between April and November. To arrange private lessons, please contact our program director at programs@nereidbc.org.

Upon completion of the five one-hour private lessons, a participant will have the following options:

  • Join the club
  • Take up to five additional private lessons at $55 per individual one-hour session (or sign up for the series of five one-hour private lessons at a total cost of $225). Upon completion of ten private lessons, a participant must become a member before taking additional private lessons.

Our coaches work with participants to determine the next best step given the progress made.
